Remember this? Friday nights? Me and you? #Famwritechat? We were going pretty strong until the holidays hit. Most fell on Fridays and I know I wasn't the only one dealing with family responsibilities. (The irony is not lost on me.) Then there was the recent Friday night that I fell asleep in Buttercup's bed while waiting for her to drift off and woke up at 10:45 (which was about an hour and 45 minutes too late).
I'll be honest: I have other things I can be doing for an hour. Sure, I might spend more time on twitter than some, but it's intermittent and on the Blackberry. A chat takes time and requires me to sit and ignore the laundry, the dishes in the sink, and my manuscript. So if you've got too much on your plate, too, I totally get it.
But if you need someone to vent to about how your three-year-old spilled coffee all over your laptop and fried it while you were in the middle of a really inspired scene, how your husband thinks you do nothing all day while you manage the kids, home, and your imagination, or if none of your real life friends know what the hell you are talking about when you refer to MCs, MSs, getting pub'd, twitter, or how what you are currently doing really is work even if there isn't a damned paycheck attached to it...well then...let's make a date.
Friday nights, 9 to 10 p.m Mountain Time (Arizona).
I'll be waiting.
