I'm cutting it pretty close here but it's been one of those days. Lots of running around of the girl-child for theater practice and other random errands and related general craziness made up the bulk of my to-do list. Right now I'm editing a picture of my standing in snow to illustrate how much we already have before the estimated 15 inches accumulate. We had 40 inches before the end of December so snow isn't a surprise up here, but it's usually spread out in smaller increments like, say, 4 to 6 inches. I think this is only the second time schools (and most other things in town) have been thrown in the towel and called off based on weather reports. I'll share that one on instagram later.
Probably Facebook, too.
For now, check out my interview with Ray Collazo on his popular podcast Ray's Latino Voices. In this segment, we talked about the Dimelo advice column with Latina Magazine, self-worth, and why I am all for raising our girls to be chingonas. For the new kids in class, that's a not so nice word in Spanish, kinda like "Bitch", which has been embraced by many Latinas as a positive. I'm good with it probably because my Guelo called us his little cabronas our entire lives, which roughly translates into calling us his little assholes.
I know....just thinking about it makes me all Smiley Faced.
And I'm out for now. Hope to see you online!
