In my former life, I was a newspaper reporter and editor. Headlines and titles are kind of my thing, so it's rare that I find myself digging deep to name something I've written. Art, however, is still new to me. While I might already have the title before I start writing a book or a blog post, I oftentimes find that I've completed a new drawing or painting and I'm still coming up blank.
That's what happened here. I suck at updating my etsy shop, and was in the process of trying to list a few prints I've had waiting to be remembered, when I hit a wall. Etsy won't let me list an item without a title, which makes sense seeing as how I'd never put a book on a shelf without one, so I need your help. Tell me...what's her name?
I created her with ink and water color pencils. I love that when I am looking at her, I feel like she's looking right back. But I don't know what to call her. That's where you come in. Name her. If I choose your title, you get a free 8x10 print (retail value $30), sent in a protective plastic sleeve and ready for framing. I've already opened up this conversation on Facebook, so it is possible that the winning title may not appear in the comment stream. I am looking forward to your ideas! Bring it, Internet! Comments will be accepted through midnight on June 2 and the winner will be announced on June 3 on my Facebook fan page! And once she has a name, she'll be live in the etsy shop in a few sizes!
