I'm too crazed to be witty right now, what with the BabyFat book launch on 9/28 and all the procrastinating I need to do, so I'll just get straight to the incredible news: I am so proud to announce that two of my pieces have been selected for the Sacred Memories: Cross Cultural Celebration the the Dead Art Show through El Pueble Historical Monument in LA. This is my second juried show selection with El Pueblo, the last being for my photograph, Mexican in Maine, which you can read about here.
Two of my favorities were selected for Sacred Memories: FacePaint, which also was recognized as a BlogHer Voices of the Year/Photo of the Year recipient, and my mixed media, Autobiography.
The Sacred Memories art show will rrun from October 30-November 23 at the El Pueblo Historial Monument in Los Angeles. I probably won't be able to attend, but I am grateful for the show selection. I will share more details about the show as I can. For now, I'd just like to thank The Universe and the friends pushing me to submit my work. Without that enouragement, I was forced to just jump into the proverbial water, my being ready or not be damned, and just do it.
So I did. And then this happened.
I love this.
